About Bend

Bend (population approx. 105,000) is located on the eastern edge of the Deschutes River, 3 hours east of Portland. A magical community where the Cascade Mountains and ponderosa pine forest transitions into the high desert which is characterized by arid land, junipers, sagebrush, and bitter-brush.

Originally a crossing point on the river, settlement began in the early 1900s. Bend was incorporated as a city in 1905. Economically, it started as a logging town but is now globally identified as a gateway to the great outdoors.  Whether recreational or an extreme athlete, you will find an amazing range of outdoor activities, including mountain biking, fly fishing, hiking, camping, rock climbing, white-water rafting, skiing and golf.

Central Oregon is like no place on earth, and you will find it hard not to fall in love. Whether you are an adventure seeker looking for a new wilderness to explore, a business looking for a new town to take by storm, a family looking for great schools, or simply a environment which encourages your golfing, fishing, or equestrian passions, look no further.
